Muglerfan says "I love smooth feet!!" about As Seen on TV PedEgg

Go to to Walgreens', CVS, Bed Bath & Beyond and buy the PedEgg for $9.99 right now!! (On Tv it is 20$ plus shipping-so what? They send you 2 PedEggs and some foot cream. Unless you need 2-don't bother ordering direct)

The PedEgg is the greatest thing ever for getting rid of callouses. My feet are smoother than after any professional pedicure I've ever had & I've had them in NYC, Chicago-at high end salons. I can not believe what this little egg shaped mini cheese grater looking contraption is capable of! Put some good foot cream on after & a pair of white cotton socks and you'll be heaven the next morning!

Some of the shavings do fall on the floor if the egg is not held grater side up while removing dead skin. I'd use it in the bathroom. Also, go easy-don't be too overzealous especially the 1st time you use it unless you've got some serious callous removal like I did. Cleaning up some dead skin on my bathroom floor is worth the beautiful baby like soft feet I now have.

GO BUY IT!!!
...

kalexias says "Dreamtime smells like chamomile tea." about LUSH Dreamtime Bath Melt

LUSH Dreamtime Bath Melt is a solid bath oil melt that is meant to be used in a warm or hot bath. It does not create bubbles or fizz, but very effectively softens and fragrances the bath. If you've never tried a bath melt from LUSH, this is a good one to start with. The only other one I really like so far is You've Been Mangoed which I have already reviewed.

As I said in my soundbite, Dreamtime smells just like chamomile tea. It also has a heady lavender note which helps to freshen the scent. I found the fragrance to be very calming and extremely sleep-inducing. The scent lingers and lasts for a couple hours after bathing -if you can stay awake long enough to notice.

There are no bubbles, fizz or show from the melt, but what you do get is an inviting foamy, creamy layer on the top of the bath water as it melts -this is from the moisturizing oils. The water does not turn a pretty color but instead resembles dishwater which is no biggie for me since the "show" is in the fragrance....
...

huggamira says "The only baby oil I trust and love" about Johnson's Baby Oil

This is my go-to baby oil. The classic name and all the good experiences I have with it. The scent alone can bring me back to many good memories.

I use it for taking off make-up, curling my hair, and espescially for when I just get out of the shower as a moisturizer - slap it on and towel it off. It's really great and beats paying a billion bucks on lotions and body creams. And is even easier when it comes to moisture therapy for my son. During winter season he is a major dry skin sufferer. I add a couple capfuls to his bath and a little more around the problem areas when he is done and the chronic dryness dissapears in a matter of days.

In the summer, it's one the most convenient - though not most healthy - tanning oils I know.

A definite staple in my house, and I would not choose any other no matter the price. I had a very bad experience with a generic brand when taking off my make-up, my whole left eye swelled up when I got some baby oil in it. Not fun and itched so BAD!
...

huggamira says "Good for quick fixin's - at your own risk" about Cover Girl Smoothers Pressed Powder

I have used this CG powder for years, but it seemed that it was also the same reason that I have been an avid acne spot sufferer for these past so many years as well. The applicators sponge is the harborer of all that is unfriendly skin irritating bacteria. The longer it stays in that compact after you've "touched up" the more the bacteria grows to irritate your skin.

Although, I have remained loyal to CG, I have decided to ditch the compacts for the sake of my skin's sanity. I've used this compact since high school, so I still don't have the heart to throw them out of my make-up case. Even if It seems that just looking at them can cause me to break out in the most unsighlty places due to my sensitive acne prone skin.

Instead, I have those rice papers for blotting - which can be disposed of and oh so discreet.
...

I'm all about leave-in creams.

I have about a gazillion bottles under my bathroom sink and out of many many many of them, this is the the first one I have chosen to throw into the garbage.

Though it smells good, like a banana and a passion fruity flowery scent, It weighed my hair down and made it impossible to upkeep.

Greasy, oily, build-up with like a weird sheen of silicone oddness - This bottle seemed to have possessed all those nasty things I hate in my hair. I hate to have to be the one to tell Sunsilk, but this was totally miscategorized under "weightless".

Maybe I just got a bad batch,(it was on sale) or perhaps I did the whole application procedure incorrectly, but I was better off using a jar of body cream in my hair for volume than this mess.
...

I have large pores, occasional acne, sensitive skin and I'm 49 so I'm not a spring chicken! I also have oily skin, but during the winter my skin is dry! tried this cleanser in a trial size first, and loved it. It removes all my make-up quickly, doesn't over dry my skin. I later purchased the large size (I think it's 16 oz) and it has lasted for 4 months at least. While the initial investment seems expensive, it really goes a long way. If you will wet your face first, then use a small amount, rub it all over to remove your make-up (yes, it even removes the mascara) then use a wet wash cloth to remove the cleanser, you will be amazed at how well it works.
...

When I was working in a salon, I was recommending this product to people with scalp problems all the time. I think it really helps to hydrate and control flaking as well as providing a nice clean feeling. I would recommend this shampoo to people with normal hair or scalp issues.

You probably should not use this shampoo if you colour treat or otherwise chemically alter your hair; I have a feeling it would be too harsh for your hair's weakend condition.

It also leaves a nice body and bounce in the hair as it cleans it fairly thoroughly.

One of my favourite things about it, however, is that it's a TeaTree shampoo with a nice smell. Sometimes Tea Tree can smell very medicinal.

Highly recommended by this hairstylist!
...

I went to a BeautiControl spa in November and was really impressed with all the products. I live in Wisconsin and the winters can be very hard on your lips, hair and skin. The lip Apeel is great, it takes off all the dead skin with an exfoliator and then softens and protects your lips with a lip balm. When ever I use it I can still feel the effects the next day. No more dry chapped lips for me. The Lip Apeel also helps to keep my lipstick from bleeding I think because your lips are moisturized so the skin around your lips doesn't act like a wick and draw the lipstick out from your lips. I liked the products so much that I joined so that I can get a discount on the products....

My opinion of Alpen Secrets Goat Milk foaming milk bath is a good one. Read on...

I have used a locally produced goat's milk soap on my face for several years now. It is gentle on my sensitive skin and doesn't cause breakouts. It has made me a goat's milk product fan. Little did I know on a recent trip to Canada that I was soon to become more of a goat's milk fan.

While in Nova Scotia I stayed with a nice couple who made up a basket of goat's milk bath products for me to use while I was visiting. They were all made by Alpen Secrets. My favorite item in the basket was the Alpen Secrets Goat Milk foaming milk bath. I added a bit to the water as the tub filled anticipating the bubbles that would soon fill the tub. I was disappointed as there weren't that many bubbles. As I slipped into the bath I thought, "Well, this isn't anything special."

I continued to use it however during my stay as I do love bath moisturizers and didn't have anything else. In a couple days I noticed......

I received this WEN Sweet Almond mint cleansing conditioner as a gift. I would never have shelled out the money to try this product. Now that I have used this for a while, I really like it.

At first I wasn't sure I would like Wen Sweet Almond Mint Cleansing conditioner. The directions sounded a bit complicated. I was, thinking to myself it was a bit silly to need directions to get my hair clean and the 16 to 24 pumps needed sounded like a lot of product, and felt like a lot, too. There is no lather and that felt strange as well. I really loved the mint scent, but be warned it is very strong and not everyone will find it pleasant. I hardly smelled any almond.

Using this Wen product is a bit of a time commitment in that you have to really massage it in for several minutes and then let it sit for several more and comb it through your hair before rinsing. Even the rinsing takes time because if you don't get all the product out, your scalp will be irritated and your hair may be flat....
...

LUSH The Comforter Shower Gel is a special-edition product that was made with the same scent as the company's popular Comforter bubble bar. I stumbled upon the whole thing randomly one night when I decided to see what was going on at the web site. When I noticed these shower gels for sale and saw that they were for sale at $16.95 per 8.4 fluid ounce bottle, I ordered two of them and I'm glad that I did.

The Comforter bubble bar is a beautiful solid block of bubble bath with a hot pink and white swirl throughout. This shower gel is the same pink-purple color and has the same scent as the bubble bar--a scent that is supposed to be "comforting". It contains cypress, bergamot, cassis, and other scents... all of which combine to smell to me like a combination of berries and blackcurrant.

This shower gel is a bit runny and is transparent as opposed to the Snowcake Shower Gel that I also recently tried. I expected the performance to be disappointing since it seemed to be so weak...
...

Okay, I know everyone loves the smell of their own hairspray and all. But this is just too strong for me. I mean if I had to wear it, I would put a very small amount on or I would get dizzy from the overwhelming smell.. And when I don't put enough product on my hair will go wild and it would be a fashion diaster. Now that can't be happening to me not ever. I do get a tiny squint of shine from Herbal Essences Hairspray. But not like it promises on the bottle. Including it comes in a big metal clunky container which again bothers me, and most of all the price is outrageous. I don't think it should be that high....

Being low maintenance, I'm not much of a beauty diva. However, even I have heard of the hair styling guru, Frederic Fekkai. When I opened the package of a recent Bath and Body Works order, I was pleased to unearth a free sample of Fekkai Glossing Cream.
I do have dry hair that I need to keep moisturized, so I figured this would be the perfect product to test. The package promises that the glossing cream "hydrates, sleeks, and shines." Who wouldn't get excited by the prospect of shiny moisturized hair?

I opened the sample to try it right away, and the first thing I noticed was the lovely fragrance. The glossing cream contains the hair-smoothing and softening agents of dimethicone and olive oil, so I had high hopes for the product. I squeezed a pea-sized dollop of cream on my hands and rubbed my hands together for several seconds. I then smoothed the glossing cream onto my dry hair. I didn't notice anything special, but my hair did feel a bit softer in general.

As I was combing...
...

kalexias says "Frothy The Snowman has a deliciously unconventional scent." about LUSH Frothy The Snowman Bubble Bar

This is what Lush has to say about Frothy the Snowman:

Liquorice and vanilla-scented bubbles for jolly bathingTake a jolly, happy bath with our snowman bubble bar. This sweetie pie makes mounds of creamy liquorice and vanilla-scented foam to envelop you like a big, warm blanket in the tub. Rolled in coconut, he smells like a bit like liquorice allsorts, those very popular English candies. Have some fun with Frothy the Snowman before his bubbles fade away.

Here is what I have to say:

I was completly blown away by Frothy. I never really expected to like it, but as it turns out it has to be one of my favorite Lush products so far. What I like best is the scent, which does linger afterwards. Liquorice, coconut and vanilla mixed together sounds kind of gross, I know, but it smells a bit more like suntan lotion. If you have ever smelled the Yankee Candle scent, Sun & Sand, it is just like that. I am a sucker for anything that smells a bit like coconut! It is also very close to the scent...
...

tq45 says "Wouldn't be without it." about Mario Badescu Kiwi Face Scrub

I also use Mario Badescu products and I would not be without them.

I noticed several people didn't not like the fact that it did not have enough 'roughage' in the scrub. I have sensitive skin, so this is perfect for me. But, if those of you who want more exfoliation, I would recommend following up your skin care with Mario Badescu's Rolling Cream Peel with AHA. It is the perfect compliment for the kiwi scrub. Of course, then you would have to follow up with one of Mario's perfect toners. I have yet to find a Mario Badescu product that I don't absolutely love. They use many natural ingredients, like seaweed, kiwi, strawberry, etc.

Many have said that Mario Badescu products are expensive. I find just the opposite. Compare their prices to other 'celebrity' endorsed products (yes Mario is endorsed by celebrities) and you will see that they are much cheaper than not only other celebrity endorsed products, but also products that celebrities put their own name on.

Plus, you...
...

taylanex3 says "depends on person" about Maybelline Define-A-Lash Mascara

This Maybelline Define-A-Lash Mascara, i think, really depends on what the type of person using this product. I would rather not use this product because i prefer a more thicker type of mascara to use on my eye lashes. I do think this mascara does its job with defining your lashes and separating them but it DOES NOT make them look thick at all. I like other mascaras that make my lashes look long and thick. Which this mascara does not do. I would much rather not use this stuff. If you are looking for a mascara that defines your lashes and does not make them look thick or long i would recommend this. But if you are not I would highly reccomend for you to not get this and go with something that says it will thicken your eye lashes and not define them....

this2shallpass19 says "Doesn't stay on tub and the "pillow" is hard as a rock!" about Spa Sensations Cushioned Head Rest

My mom, bless her heart, knows I love to take baths. For Christmas she got me a bath pillow - Spa Sensations Cushioned Head Rest. She had good intentions, but this has got to be the worst bath pillow ever!

The bath pillow measures 11 x 6 inches. It is made out of an incredibly hard foam that is encased in soft foam. According to the package the bath pillow came in, some of the features (even though I disagree) are:

Comfortable and Soft

Slip Resistant Suction Cups

Hanger Hook for Drying

Machine Washable

My Experience:

I ran my bath water, dropped a Skindecent Bath Truffle in the water and then tried to attach the Spa Sensations Cushioned Head Rest to my bath tub. The back of the bath pillow has eight suction cups, so how hard could it be to get two of them to stick? Let's just say after trying to stick them to the tub, I ended up getting in the bath with one suction cup attached. If I waited any longer, my water would have gotten cold.

So I sit in the tub and lean back to rest on...
...

taylanex3 says "best frangrance ever!" about Juicy Couture Perfume

This Viva La Juicy perfume by Juicy Couture is amazing! I get complements left and right whenever I wear this, wether it be to the store or even on a short family picnic. Everyone I know and have met loves this scent and can't get enough of it. I know I surely can't! This frangrance is very sweet, but not too sweet. From what I know, guys and girls both love it. I know everyone i know does. People from all over complement me and i've never heard anything bad about the scent. I recommend for anyone who is looking for a new scent or frangrance to buy or use to get this, even if you want to buy it for someone i highly recommend for you to get this one. I got it as a gift, and will continue to buy it for a very very long time. Everyone always wants to use some and I can't blame them! I love it just as much if not more! People may think this frangrance will be too strong but its not, its just perfect!!! I love it and know i will not want to buy anything other than this.
...
