Eight years ago, I posted this list of favorite comedies on Epinions. Every one of these is a five-star experience, and I don't expect my love of these moves to ever change. By no means is this a list in order of preference. I hope you will enjoy these recommendations:

1. Annie Hall - This is a great film about life, love, and turning forty. The story is told in a stream of consciousness style, as if Woody Allen's character, Alvy Singer, were personally invited to someone's home to tell his life story. Alvy manages to find the humor in every situation. Just remember - we need the eggs!

Well, hello, Viewpoints readers. As this is my first review here, I thought I should say hi. I have not always loved movies. I was more of a stuck-in-the-same-rut tv viewer. But when I married, I happened to marry a movie guru, so movies have become a much loved part of my life.

 My tastes in movies change as much as the weather in Wyoming, but the ones that I love stay with me. Here are my favorites.

Following the lead of others, I've decided to list the 10 DVDs that get played over and over in my household, in no particular order:

Boogie Nights - a gorgeous snap shot of 1970s, pre-AIDS America, when porn looked as if it had a snowball's chance in hell of making it as mainstream entertainment. Surprisingly touching and warm, considering the subject matter...this film really brings home the message that all those tacky porn industry folks of the 70s were people. Misfits, but people, nonetheless.

#1 - Dream a Little Dream.  With corey fieldman and corey haim.  I was never into swooning over movie stars or any intangable, but the charisma that they both gave off, mixed with the story that plays with imagination and interacts with your mind.  Love it!

#2 -Matrix trilogy,

#3 XXX (triple X) with vin diesel,

1.   A cult film classic,  a kind of movie only released once a lifetime, Jay and Silent Bob strike back.  Kevin Smith is a comedic genious and the one liners are some of the best ive ever heard.

2.   Super Troopers.  I remember going to this movie on opening day.  A couple of buddies and myself took off of work early and witnessed one of the funniest opening scenes in movie history.  All three of us were litterly in tears from the first 10 minutes of the movie.  It even lasted the rest of the next week.  Even though the last half of the movie is a little slow, the beginning makes up...

I've been a movie buff since my early teens discovering such old movies stars as Clark Gable and Claudette Colbert when most kids my age were into "Billy Jack" back in the early 70s.  Here's my top ten favorite movies and why:

1.  Psycho (1960): I am always careful as to not reveal the plot of this thriller because from beginning to end this movie is like a great roller coaster ride you never want to end.  I happen to catch this movie on the late, late show back in the 70s and knew nothing about it.  Knew nothing about what was to happen or what would happen.  So when the plot unraveled I sat...

  Although these are my top 10 favorite movies, they are in no particular order within the top 10 since that would vary too much based on the day and my mood.  Here goes:

 1. A League of Their Own.  As a little girl growing up, I watched this constantly with my father and always wished I had more athletic ability...or at least looked like Geena Davis.  I can still sing all the words to their song and would recommend this to anyone who's looking for a feel-good, family friendly, female inspired movie.

1.  Scarface-I've watched this movie over 30 times and still love it.  It's the story of opportunity in America and the lesson of over indugence.  Al Pachino does a great job in making you live out his life as a immigrant turned gangster.  This film is very grafic and the language is terrible.  I prefer to watch it on TV, not sure if they have a tuned down version?

 2.  The Shawshank Redemption-  Second most watched movie for me.  A story of perseverence and never giving up.  A good lesson to be learned.
