Most HelpfulFor the second time in 18 months TD Ameritrade's computers failed during a major market crisis. Each time customers were unable to log in and access their accounts. This time TD Ameritrade would not even take phone calls leaving their customers totally helpless to manage their accounts. I'm sure...
read full review »TD Ameritrade does everything right but falls flat with poor trade execution for limit trades. If this flaw was fixed I would gladly recommend the service but as is, it is a fatal flaw in my view.

I was leery to use on-line service, unsure if it would work. The account manager said he would walk me through process. Before you confirm trade, it would repeatedly ask if this is what you want to do. There is a 7/24 phone-line for questions and answers.
I love TDAmeritrade as my broker. They have fantastic tools and prices are easy to understand and to use. The only criticism I have is that they do not have a very useful mobile platform, other than that I would recommend it to all investors and traders.
We have had accounts with this company since 1995. It has gone through many changes, but we have generally been highly satisfied with the service. Pricing is most favorable, too, except there are a few nuisance service charges, such as the $25 "reorganization" fee when a company is bought out and the stock is liquidated for cash. In theory, this should generate another brokerage commission, but TDAmeritrade apparently doesn't agree.
I have had a number of service problems over the years, but they have all been resolved thanks to access to a live person, rather than being forced into e-mail...
