OPI Nail Polish Review Summary

Although O.P.I. Nail Lacquer is a tad more expensive than some other nail polishes, our budget conscious reviewers say it's actually a steal considering how long their manicures stay fresh and unchipped. In a huge array of shades from pastel to very deep, O.P.I. Nail Lacquer is many nail salons' favorite for professional manicures. You can have a professional looking manicure at home, say our reviewers, with this easy to apply, non clumping nail lacquer. Looking for other nail products? Look no further, We have reviews of all kinds of nail polishes and nail accessories.

Introduction to the Product

I was first introduced to O.P.I. Nail Lacquer at a Nail Salon where I was getting a manicure.  I noticed that all they sold was this particular brand of nail polish and asked them why.  I was told that it was a quality product and the length of time that it stayed on nails...

i have been a hairdresser/nail tech for the past ten years and  have just about every color OPI has come out with. The  problem i've been having with this product is all the changes. The company has taken out the formaldehyde and added a massive Pro wide brush...thats great if you have the fingernails... read full review »

I first learned of OPI at my nail salon as it was all they used on their clients. I didn't know alot about the ploish at the time but fell in love with a hot pink shade and had to have it. I'm now hooked and refuse to spend money on any other brand. Being a nurse I wash my hands alot and use a ton of hand sanatizer which I have found is hard on nail polish. Not with OPI. The polish stays. The price may be a bit more than what you would pay at your local drug store or wal-mart but so worth it. You actually save in the long run. The array of colors and the staying power is wonderfull.

I too was introduced to O.P.I. polishes in a nail salon. There are so many beautiful colors to choose from, it would take me forever to decide which one I wanted to use. They also have very unique names so they are easy to remember if you want use it again. The polish is great, goes on smooth and always shines. It stays on longer than  most so its really worth the cost.

You can also get O.P.I. at J.C. Penney Hair salons, and Sally's Beauty Supply if you have them in your area.

I have always seen O.P.I. nail products, but never really knew anything about them.  I saw that the price was more expensive, so I just stayed away from it and continued using my regular brand.  Then, I received a professional manicure at a salon, where the manicurist used O.P.I. nail polish.  That was it.  I will now use NOTHING except O.P.I. Nail Lacquer.  After seeing the difference between the cheap nail polish I used to buy, and the durability of O.P.I., I understand why it's used in salons.

First of all, have you seen all the colors available through O.P.I.?  WOW!!  The selection is...

This polish is the best!  It's durable and OPI has a great selection of colors and they come out with different one's each year.  I used to go to a salon to get them done and this is one of the salon favorites.  Now I buy it on-line or at a salon and do it myself.  It does cost a bit much (around $7.00 a bottle) but the shine and durability is worth it.

OPI is my absolute favorite nailpolish. I work at Ulta so I have expirience with pretty much all mainstream pro/not pro nail polish and I have to say that OPI polish is the only one I would use for a last minute no-base/no-topcoat semi-manicure before a really hot date.
It goes on thick and glossy and never dissapoints.
Worth the $8.00 for staple colors. If you want trendy, use only once type polishes, I would recommend Revlon (chips fast though).

Cheers!

I like the huge assortment of colors that OPI offers, and that they are available at retailers like Ulta and Trade Secret.  Some of the colors become hard to find, but there are online sources that sometimes help with that. I like the new formula (started with the Australia collection in Spring 2007), but I have a love/hate view of the new "Pro-Wide Brush" -- I have small fingernails and it's hard for me to control the brush sometimes.  That's why I only gave it 4 stars and didn't say it was easy to apply.

OPI is the greatest way to get compliments anywhere you go. I have been a long time user of OPI and no matter where I go I get compliments on the way my nails look and the color. I go to the nail salon once every two weeks for the past 10 years. OPI has some of the greatest colors (not available through other products). Although OPI is a bit more expensive than other nail products, a bottle of OPI will last me at least a year and definitely outlast most of its competition in product coverage, consistency and color in that same year's time. I have purchased cheaper products only to have the nail...

I have been doing my own nails since I was about 16 years old so I have tried a lot of products.  I was particularly impressed by this polish from the first time that I used it.  My number one complaint about other brands of polish was that they faded away so quickly. OPI was my saving grace. I work with the public so I like to keep my appearance up and my nails in good shape. I do a lot of typing and phone work with my hands so I need something that can endure all of that. OPI is just the thing. I get so many compliments on my nails, everyone thinks that I go to a salon. This stuff is so good,... read full review »

Coming from a family in the beauty business, I have been privledged to try many products and O.P.I. nail polish is by far, THE BEST polish out there.  You can pay a lot more for department store brands and they don't even come close to the staying power of O.P.I. polish.  In addition to traditional as well as cutting edge shades, I have worn this polish on my toe nails for over four weeks without it chipping and that's wearing sandals and open-toe shoes every day!  I have lived in Southern California for over twenty years, everywhere from San Diego to Los Angeles, and rarely do I cover my toes,... read full review »

Whenever I need a cheap little pick-me-up I get a new nail color. I've tried them all. Right now my toes are blue. OPI always has the newest, craziest colors. And the product is great. Stays on well, doesn't chip and is easy to apply. In my neighborhood it's available everywhere - not just at salons. I can get it at the beauty supply as well as drugstores. My only wish is that they sold it in smaller bottles - I never use it all up & I'd love to have room in my polish drawer for more colors! It's more expensive than the cheap drugstore brands - but between the quality & the color selection it's... read full review »

I love this nail polish! I am a dancer and even when I am on the dance floor with no shoes I doesn't chip. It is great for young girls and old. I use it all the time. I like the navy and there blacks and dark purples. They also have bright colors that I love for summer and spring. This is the only nail polish I use and the only one I will ever use. It is long lasting durable and looks great on. It dosen't clump up when you put it on and it is great for girls who are just learning how to paint their nails. O.P.I. nail polish is very forgiving and easy to wipe off. I will never use a differnt nailpolish!... read full review »

I grow my nails naturally and I use the computer constantly, so my nails are constantly being used all day long. The polish doesn't chip even with extensive keyboard use. My nails feel stronger with polish on them and OPI appears to assist in the strength.

I find I only need to polish about once a week. If I don't do the dishes often during that time, I can get a few more days out of the wear.

I enjoy doing my own nails for the convenience of having the color in my home in the event a touch up is needed.

I get french pedicures done with OPI nail polish and the nail polish stays on for three to four weeks and looks great. At one point my salon used a nail polish that was a lesser quality and the polish starting chipping off within the first five days, I didn't notice and I was having to get pedicures done weekly for a month because of the chipping polish, I finally noticed that they weren't using OPI so I went and bought my own bottle and my pedicure once again lasted almost a month. The price is definitely worth it!
