Most HelpfulBumbo Baby Seat
What is it?
The Bumbo Baby Seat is a sturdy seat for infants to sit upright in. It comes with a tray that helps hold baby in place. This seat is recommended for infants who can hold their heads up on their own.
My Viewpoint!
I kept hearing all the craze about the Bumbo Baby Seat but hadn't...
Most HelpfulLet me be the first to say, I don't understand the hype behind this product. While I was pregnant with my second son, my mother-in-law saw the Bumbo Baby Seat on a talk show, bought one, and gave it to me because "her grandson needed one." Why? Don't babies sit up on their own when they are ready? ...

The product and packaging clearly state that child must never be left on an elevated surface or unattended. The recall was based on children falling off of counters or tabletops while in the Bumbo. No product is safe under these conditions.
The Bumbo was convenient for me, as a busy working mom, who could not always hold her baby while keeping busy. My toddler likes to watch a little TV while getting ready in the morning and the Bumbo seat kept her sister busy while I was bustling around getting ready in the...

I was so excited, I couldn't wait to get it home (clean it) and try it out on our three month old. So... we got home, I cleaned it, waited until he was in a good mood, and put him into it. Well, PUT isn't the right word, I wedged him into it really. He loved the seat, but only for about 5 minutes, which was a good start, and when I went to pick him back up, I actually had to stand on the seat while lifting him up. We tried it maybe three more times, and it didn't go well. The last time I used...

BUT...
It does not promote good development. This seemingly amazing product simply does all the work for your kid. And despite how good that sounds, its not good at all. The convenience of this product does not outweigh the damage you could do developmentally. Our Dr recommended not using them and we got rid of them. Ask your...
read full review »We bought this for my son and were VERY pleased with our purchase. It was a great porable high chair, we even brought it to resturants and placed him on the table with us (in a booth with him on the inside) so he didn't have to sit in his carseat the whole time. We used it quite often. Then our daughter came along and she had terrible reflux problems and she couldn't sit in the Bumbo because the pressure the part between her legs put on her belly made her spit up constantly. So we didn't get much use out of it with her, but my son still sits in it sometimes to watch TV just because he thinks...
read full review »The Bumbo is a life saver! I love this seat and my son has used it from the time he was 6 months old. He is now 14 months old and still sits in this chair to eat his snack. The seat is a bit pricey and the color choices are a bit odd, but I believe that it is one of the best purchases I made. The seat is very comfortable for my son and seems to be very sturdy. It definitely comes in handy when you are travelling as well.
We loved the Bumbo! My daughter is very aware of her surroundings, and in the begining wanted to be a part of everything. The Bumbo was great because she was able to sit up "on her own" in the Bumbo. This is not a seat for infants who are able to sit on there own, but a seat for those on their way! This is now my favorite gift to give the expecting Mom.
This made feeding baby much easier early on. At 5 months, our daughter was ready for baby food, but wasn't quite big enough for our high chair. This way she could sit secure and I could focus on feeding her without having to keep her from sliding around in the chair or distract her from chewing on the tray.
Convenience~ during the day I can bring the Bumbo into the living room to feed her so I can watch my toddler play at the same time. Being able to bring it along on trips has been helpful too.
I can put my daughter in the Bumbo on the floor with a bucket of toys beside her while I am cooking...
read full review »We bought the Bumbo seat at a yard sale for my second child. We sat her in it long before she was sitting on her own. I loved that she could go wherever I went in the house. I loved that she could join us at the dinner table (sitting ON the table) and she seems to enjoy it for short periods of time. But...
There are some major problems with this seat.
1. For the "assisted sitter" (child who can't sit on their own) the bumbo seat sits the child straight up with no head/neck support. My 4 month old daughter slouched in the seat in the most uncomfortable way. Although she held her head up beautifully,...
